Students' reading development is heavily dependent on their understanding of the alphabetic principle. It is important to learn the name, shape, & sound of each letter both in order & out. Sequencing the alphabet aids dictionary skills & retrieval of words for spelling.
It often helps dyslexic children to retain teaching if we use using methods where they are feeling, seeing, saying & writing. The letters are versatile; they can be used to build up words phonetically, for sequencing the alphabet, introducing dictionary skills & tracking for those children with visual processing difficulties.
